In Polka's name, we've taken Kölsch to the dark side, a fitting tribute to our ewe born with a ridiculously large black dot on her side like a bullseye. Using our house Kölsch yeast in tandem with NZ Pilsner, Weyermann Carafa, Simpson's chocolate & Gladfield Aurora malts unleashed light espresso & dark chocolate aroma. Dense tan foam on the head leads to soft roast, hints of dried fruit & a dry finish. Paired with Polka Kölsch as a black & tan (light on bottom, dark on top) reveals soft cherry & a hint of sweetness that pairs magically with the roast & chocolate notes. Our first gimmick beer? Might be. Whatever you call it, this one's sure to please.
