Aliment Brewing is a small, low-fi brewery at the top of New Zealand's South Island in beautiful Riwaka - smack dab in the lap of NZ's main hop-growing region.
Why the name 'Aliment'? It's a term connected to sustenance & nourishment. While we'd never claim beer is essential to life, we think a good brew can nourish the spirit & lube the wheels of human interaction. Nothing beats sitting with friends over a pint & a good chat.
Both Jason & Monica have backgrounds with food (he was a chef for more than two decades; she had two small Mexican food businesses). In fact, 'Aliment' was Jason's license plate while he was in culinary school in Vermont. It's just a good fit.
Jason makes our beer. With heaps of brewing experience (+ medals & BGNZ championship wins), he brings a seasoned palate to the brew house. He's driven to make good beer. Plus, he mops the floor like a champ.
Monica handles other stuff like marketing & the tasting room. She makes sure everything's in the right spot & ready to rock.
Crafting good beer that brings people together is what we're about. Building good relationships with our customers, community & environment every day, one brew at a time, is how we roll.
You'll notice we don't go in for super complicated labels & tap badges. That's just us. We think that stuff is fun, but we're letting the brand grow naturally, kind of like a good garden. We hope you can enjoy the beer without all the fuss.
